Your tasks

  • Provide technical support to various research projects using tissue culture, routine molecular biology and biochemical methods. The range of methods includes but is not limited to: cell culture, biochemical methods such as Western blot and Elisa, molecular biological analyses (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, cloning), immunocyto and -histological staining, cutting of brain frozen tissue and cell culture (including primary neuronal cells).
  • Genotyping and phenotypic characterization of transgenic mouse lines (including mouse fixation perfusion)
  • Contribution of laboratory management, which will include purchasing and managing equipment and laboratory re­sources
  • Liaising with agents/companies for equipment and consumables; cost estimates.
  • Guidance of trainees / students

Your Profile

  • You have completed training as a biological-technical assistant or medical-technical assistant and have laboratory experience with basic biochemical and molecular biological techniques
  • Proven experience of working in a laboratory and research environment
  • Competence in accurately prepare media of different composition, solutions and reagents
  • Expertise in tissue culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques
  • Expertise in histological techniques of mouse tissues is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, which include maintenance of accurate and detailed records of experimental data and protocols
  • High level of teamwork but also autonomy
  • Good problem-solving skills and sense of responsibility
  • Good command of German and English
